I realised one thing lacking that actually affects the whole of my life... Affecting the way actions are taken, the conversations I engage in, the tutorial sessions, the lecture periods, the everyday walk to school, the moment before you sleep, the anguish of tiredness as you slog through the night and contemplate not continuing...
One important thing...
Consciousness...
It affects the engagement of my other aims in life...
My Revolution - Mohammad Fairuz Selamat
The Four Pursuits...
1.Intellectual Diversity
2.Emotional Certainy
3.Spiritual Security
4.Psychological Adaptability
Note that they are not hierarchically placed because in no way is one having more merits above the other in my own conceptualization. They form a symbiotic relationship which gives a holistic direction for a person to pursue and live his life by.
As was mentioned, Consciousness is actually an important factor...
A revolution of the consciousness
A revolution of consciousness
5.Cognitive Consciousness...
Why is consciousness so important?
It is because of the fact that being aware of the things that you do or how you are feeling will affect how you will live your life. It will affect how you evaluate your actions, people's responses, about the need to see people from the context of their selves and not by your judgement, although we cannot fully control in making judgements of a person (it does not mean though we must respond in the context of the character of the person, eg. weak-willed with gentleness, etc.)
We should not leave the many little details of actions in our lives to automatic processes, to state that it is the way I respond, the way I behave, this is me...
This is a point of view which I totally disagree with.
We need to develop a consciousness, an awareness so that we can successfully live by our principles. An example would be the next time you have your tutorial session and the fact that you know your tutor will be giving answers to your assignments, would you be feeling contented with what is present [the tutor giving answers] or do you want to go beyond and engage the professor or tutor so that you may learn more than you would have.
The idea to develop an awareness, the consciousness also permeates to the normal things we do in life; develop the awareness of how you speak, your breathing patterns, your toilet habits... and you may realise many things that you never knew... Its the need to develop the acuteness of awareness to the everyday things that is important because, no doubt, it will definitely permeate into the larger aspects of your life...
A example would be my insistence to not use Singlish in this blog because it will unwittingly permeate into other areas of my intellectual life and affects my conceptualisation of English as a language medium.
Be aware of the presence and the uses [of Singlish], but do not use it liberally as a means of communicating your ideas or thoughts...
Although I did not properly elaborate on some of the finer points of what was mentioned, the main point that I want to communicate has been said... The need for consciousness...
The awareness...
The REvolution Of LIFE - Mohammad Fairuz bin Selamat
1.Cognitive Consciousness
2.Intellectual Diversity
3.Emotional Certainty
4.Spiritual Security
5.Psychological Adaptability
These are ideas I have conjured and I hope to elaborate further on them as I grow older and gain maturity in conceptualising my thoughts...
To Suriani: and perhaps it may be a basis for us to write a book in the near future... InsyaAllah...
but the book idea is interesting... To evaluate and give opinions on current affairs or topics of interests...
It will definitely be intellectually engaging.
Ok, need to conjur up some questions for Silat Interview... Yikes!
