This may be my first intellectual input after quite a long while...
A very long while I might say...
It pertains to why some people emerge more successful than others even after staring out from the same platform...
It may seem incredulous or plain common sense but I believe it is what that on a primary level of argument, the first chain of effect that differentiates between a person that came out more successful than the guy next door or sitting on the next lecture seat...
Ever wonder how that guy can become so successful or neat or even come out with brilliant ideas most of the time and us, cant seem to figure out the dollars and sense of it all?
It all comes down to one basic primary ingredient that we are should and ought to involve ourselves more in our daily lives; our daily actions and reactions...
That is basically...
To think...
That fundamental...
Taking theories and findings from psychological research, most of what we do are basically based on heuristics and that we are more or less running on automatic most of the time... What we do and how we involve or do things run on relying on short cuts that our minds has automatically primed or be familiar with.
Ever felt yourself daydreaming most of the time?
Ever felt like we retorted even at the slightest provocation?
Ever felt walking down the hallway oblivious to what is happening around you and the next thing you know you find yourself in the lecture hall...
Ever felt like you know what you are going to do for the rest of the day and end up not doing it?
Ever felt like you feel that you know most of the things that have been taught to you because you thought things feels easy?
Ever feel that even though you are multi-tasking, life feels just so mundane...
Ever felt like you were studying and reading your text and forget about what you read soon after?
These are the effects of heuristics and due to the fact that our cognitive processes rely on the automatic processing of our thoughts and actions that have been done before and regularly...
The one thing that one must do to overcome it is to think before any action and reaction, to involve yourself in elaborative processing, to know that the very best of actions and ideas involves the need to think deeply into a matter.
When one relies on doing one normally does for the sake of simplicity, that is when one succumbs to the action of automaticity that although benefits the human race - it enables us to save energy consciously processing multiple levels of stimuli and - it plagues us to fall deeper into this action of automaticity. We tend to do things without thinking and does things what one normally does without giving thought to whether there is in fact any other alternatives or actions that may in fact proved to be more beneficial...
Just let yourself think... it helps in ways and wonders that you will realise that of many things that help books and help gurus out there that purportedly will help enrich and enliven your life is due to the primary fact that it was just to help you think... You just need to take this first primary cheap step to change your life... THINK!
THink before you act!
THink Before you Speak!
THink Before you react!
THink!
Just THink!
It may seem time consuming but as you let yourself practice thinking,
Soon enough you will spend less time being able to think multiple levels of thoughts...
Of all things that needs practice...
Practice thinking...
It may just change your life...
(well... although the above arguments are ridden with disjointed findings and flows, the primary message that is to be said is found in the lower paragraphs... This in fact is to enable me to practice my thinking process which I had sadly neglected over a period of time... Long it is in fact...)
Sometimes, ever wonder why certain professors can just give so many answers and quick enough to give that to...
Basically they practiced thinking...
THinking is definitely a must to be practiced because the fact that it is a basic construct of the human action, it pervades our lives immensely...
Conscientiousness, for example, from my own perspective involves thinking that ranges from orderliness and cleanliness and practice and determination. When one makes the effort to be conscientious, one involves oneself in thinking from these different dimensions, say, how much should I read a day... or I like keeping things clean this way...
That is why, findings have shown that conscientious people are found to be more intelligent than those rated less...
Oh well... it is very much a basic thing... but we often neglected it...
To practice thinking...
To involve ourselves in the thinking process...
That is why sometimes you find some of the people in the writing industry to seem so colourful and vibrant and that they seem to know so many things it just makes you so jealous...
Think man... Think...
Its the fundamental human need that we all neglected...
